Residents in three Hougang blocks voted to proceed with lift modernisation packages at an extraordinary general meeting held on 16 August. Works begin in November and are expected to finish before the year-end holidays.
Each block will lose one lift car at a time for roughly ten days. While a car is offline, shuttle buses will loop between the affected blocks and Hougang MRT station during morning and evening peaks.
Accessibility arrangements
Volunteers will escort residents who use wheelchairs via service lifts where available. Town council officers posted printed schedules in English, Mandarin, and Malay at every lift lobby.
Residents with medical appointments during peak shutdown windows may request priority shuttle seats by calling the town council hotline listed on lobby notices.
