A voluntary rent relief programme for independent shophouse tenants will run through the fourth quarter, according to guidance issued to landlords on 15 August. Rebates cover up to fifteen percent of base rent if tenants maintain active trade registrations.
Applications open 1 September and require signed attestations from both landlord and tenant. Funds are disbursed after verification of utility bills matching the stated address.
Who qualifies
Ground-floor traders in designated heritage rows are eligible; mall tenants and home-office listings are excluded. Landlords must commit to passing the full rebate to tenants within ten days of receipt.
