Asian hawker food dishes served at a stall counter
Stalls reopen with updated exhaust hoods and non-slip flooring.

Five hawker stalls along a Telok Ayer shophouse row resumed lunch service on 20 August after a six-week renovation that upgraded shared grease traps and exhaust ducting. Regulars queued from 11:00 for chicken rice and vegetarian thunder tea rice.

Stallholders said rental remained unchanged during closure thanks to a temporary waiver negotiated with the landlord. Evening hours extend to 20:30 on weekdays.

What's new

Digital queue numbers replace paper tickets at two stalls. Cashless payments are accepted but not mandatory; elderly customers may still pay at counters.
